Sali Farhan

Sali FarhanĀ is a Postdoctoral Fellow with Benjamin Neale and Mark Daly. She completed her PhD in Biochemistry and Genetics at Robarts Research Institute at Western University in Canada. Her PhD research focused on identifying the genetic basis of Mendelian diseases and complex neurodegenerative diseases primarily amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia. Currently, she is studying large cohorts of sporadic and familial ALS cases to elucidate the genetic determinants of neurodegeneration. She also has a special interest in working with patients, clinicians, industry and basic scientists to translate research findings into clinically relevant outcomes. In addition to her research interests, she enjoys participating in leadership, teaching, and mentorship forum.
