Interactive Research Methods Course for Researchers
This course is open to all College of Health Sciences current MMed Sci, PhD, and post-PhD researchers, or researchers with publications. The course will offer skills training in biostatistics, epidemiology, introductory R programming and data management. Sessions on manuscript writing and research ethics will be offered as well. The purpose of the course is to provide fundamental knowledge and skills needed when running independent research projects.
Requirements and prerequisites for attendance include an interest in pursuing a career in research, and in sharing the knowledge gained with others in the research community at UKZN. Participants must also have access to a laptop that they can use throughout the training.
Course Dates:
Week One: 4-8th February, 9:00-17:00
Week Two: 11-15th February, 9:00-13:00
Research Methods for Registrars
This course is open to all Registrars or students registered for MMed or Masters in the College of Health Sciences. The purpose of the course, which will be held over a two-week period, is to introduce Registrars to concepts and skills in epidemiologic study design, biostatistics with SPPS, data management and systematic reviews to support the development of individual research projects.
To apply, you must be a current staff member or student at University of KwaZulu-Natal registered at a minimum of the Masters level. Participants must also have access to a laptop that they can use throughout the training.

Week Two: 12th, 13th, 15th February 14:00-17:00, and
February 16th from 9:00-13:00
